Finding Forever: Excerpt from Prologue

With a pang of anguish, Teresa came to terms with the fact that she was going to die. There were only 4 lifeboats and far too many young children for Teresa to be considered worth saving. Her parents still urged her to try, tying her hair back under a shawl to make her look younger.
A stampede of small feet rushed to the top deck. Teresa caught the last kiss from her father and felt it burn with the tears on her cheeks. With her shaky mother, she followed the mass of children to the top deck and waited. People were going crazy, fighting and screaming in the chaos. A riot emerged up ahead, and Teresa overheard with horror that all of the lifeboats had been filled and were being released.
